108.5 THE KNOT, operated by H&O Productions, is a small independent broadcaster. We collect as little about you as we can get away with, and we tell you what we do collect. This policy covers our website, our audio stream, and our player app.
Information We Collect
You give us: email when you subscribe to the Gazette or request a song; your name, message, and contact info when you write in; voicemail audio when you leave one on the studio line.
Automatically collected: IP address (used in the moment to serve the stream, not stored), browser and device type, pages viewed, aggregate listening totals, and approximate country/region for licensing reporting. We do not fingerprint you. We do not track you across other sites.
How We Use It
To deliver and improve the stream; to send the Gazette if you asked for it; to route your song request or message to the right desk; to report aggregate listener totals to SoundExchange and our performing-rights organizations, as required by law.
Sharing
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We use a small handful of service providers (email delivery, stream hosting, analytics) who process data on our behalf under contract. We disclose information only when required by a lawful subpoena or court order.
Cookies
We use functional cookies (volume preference, last-played position, whether you dismissed a banner). No advertising cookies. No third-party trackers.
Your Rights
You can ask to see what we have on you, correct it, or delete it at any time. Residents of California, the EU/UK, and other jurisdictions with data-protection laws have additional rights under their local statutes — we honor them regardless of where you live. Email privacy@knot1085.com and we'll write back.
Retention
Gazette subscribers: until you unsubscribe. Request and contact-form messages: 12 months, then purged. Aggregate listening logs: indefinitely, but fully anonymized.
Children
Our site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe we have, please let us know and we'll delete it.
Changes
We'll post material changes here and update the effective date. For significant changes, we'll also mention it in the Gazette.
